The "Cinch" Diet- does it work?

So, I was watching Rachael Ray this morning, and Cynthia Sass introduced the cinch diet. Basically what you have to do is only eat the following 5 foods for 5 days, and apparently you'll lose 8 pounds! The foods are: eggs, spinach, almonds, raspberries, and yogurt. But, does it really work? Has anyone here tried it? And they never mention if you have to exercise or not. . . So basically, I'm asking if this diet works. Thanks!!! :-) Oh, and my BMI is 25.3, overweight :-/, because I'm short. Also, how can I get a little taller? Thank you!!!
