Why do liberals still claim Bush wasn't elected?

The claim is that the Supreme Court picked Bush as the winner, when that isn't even a function of the court. Only the House of Representatives has the power to pick the President if election results are inconclusive. The Supreme Court ordered the Florida Supreme Court to put a stop to the multiple recounts that violated the Florida Constitution, and that the state of Florida turn in their election results, which had Bush as the winner.
